COVID-19 Coronavirus Lockdown Two

So, for the second time in a row, we were prevented from meeting up.

Instead, we once again met in the virtual pub.

A few reminders of our weekend vPub evening

THE USUAL SUSPECTS...

- Charlie "Nine-hour wait" Grant
- Pete "No more Mondeo" Smith
- Simon "Dash cam" Piercy
- Tim "Roll over" Spate
- Dave "New battery" Noble

Friday

Charlie, Simon, Tim, Dave & (eventually!) Pete met in a Zoom-hosted virtual pub.

We raised our glasses for a customary "Cheers!"

The Usual Suspects

Charlie had an ale from his favourite Black Sheep brewery.

Simon showed us his beer and then dashed off to get his glasses so he could read where it was from - but in the meantime, Tim googled it ... Belgium, apparently.

Recent newsworthy events were discussed, such as:

- the UK Lockdown Two

- the announcement earlier in the day that Joe Biden finally had enough votes to be President Elect in USA

- Simon's younger daughter Anna's positive COVID-19 test

- Dave & Tricia's break in the Lake District

- Simon, Julia, Beth & Anna's holiday in Rhodes

Tim then showed us how much 10-month old son, Ben, had grown

We each then told tales of woe about our cars ...

Dave's battery completely died and had an expensive garage bill to pay - not helped by a £75 "investigation" to establish what they already knew.

Charlie spent 9 hours just off the A47 outside King's Lynn, waiting to be rescued by the RAC, after the alternator in his younger son Joe's Vauxhall Agila had died on the way to a short break in Suffolk.

Simon's new dash cam had recorded a red-light jumper. (Because of the bad language, the video footage didn't get passed the censors.)

Pete finally sold the Mondeo - he didn't mention how much he got for it, so we suspect he actually had to pay someone to remove it!

But Tim won the prize for Best Story when he told us of a low-speed road traffic accident that still resulted in his car being rolled over!

Charlie was just explaining that his #LockdownFilmFest was now at 236 consecutive days, when we were interrupted by Dave's landline telephone ringing - he looked at the handset and said, "Oh, it's Dave (Hemsley) - he can ring back."

We had another good catch-up, with the usual banter and many laughs.

We all expressed our hope to finally meet-up for real in April 2021 (if not before) - and then we left the vPub.
